Annual Adult Awards Descriptions

All entries must be submitted digitally to gagegiftedawards@gmail.com by March 18, 2022. Nominations are limited to one nomination per category per school. A cover sheet with the following information must accompany each nomination.

• Name of award

• Nominating person(s) with email address and phone number

• Nominee name, phone number, and school affiliation

GAGE Teacher of the Year (one at each school level: Elementary, Middle, High)

ELIGIBILITY: Any GCPS gifted certified teacher who teaches a class or classes which include gifted students and has made outstanding contributions to the local school and/or county gifted program. Nominations should include a description of the contributions to the program, innovative teaching, and any articles, publications, or presentations related to gifted education.

GAGE Outstanding Parent of the Year

ELIGIBILITY: Any parent who is a member of GAGE and has made an outstanding contribution to the Gwinnett County Public School’s Gifted Program and/or the gifted program at the local school. Nominations should include a description of the contributions made to the gifted program.

GAGE Administrator of the Year

ELIGIBILITY: Any administrator in GCPS whose efforts greatly support gifted learners. (Administrator does not need to be a member of GAGE to be selected.) Nominations should include a description of specific contributions made to the gifted program, publications or presentations made related to gifted education, a description of concepts, models, programs, or approaches that demonstrate a positive approach to gifted education students in GCPS, as well as any other pertinent information that shows enthusiasm and support for the gifted education program in GCPS.

Hughes Award

ELIGIBILITY: Any individual, club, business, corporation, or civic group who has made an outstanding contribution to the Gwinnett County Public Schools Gifted Program. Nominations should include a description of the contributions made to the gifted program. If a group or organization, give the purpose of the group or organization and the name of a contact person.
